I dislike Java, Visual Basic and Delphi are Microsoft islands, in C++ is still a lot of C inside and the debugging time is still much to high. Interpreted languages are no variant. one day I've heard of the "D programming language" and was convinced by its proclaimed goals to be the C/C++ successor that brings me the advantages I was looking for: lower debugging time to make me more efficient and building GUIs with it. But I stuck again in the same situation: I'm looking for a D replacement :/ It didn't develop as i was expecting. And you maybe noticed I didn't mention C# in the paragraph above.
